Coach Keith Gee said the Beaudesert women were certainly tenacious and ready to work hard.
"We played second placed side, the Carina Tigers," he said.
"It was a hard game, they just kept coming at us and we gave it back to them.
"There were some great moments in the game.
"Our front rower Renea Green was very good and so was Mareesha Williams.
"Josie Samphier kicked brilliantly."
Gee said when Beaudesert scored, the opposition hit back, we scored again and we hit back, with each side racking up 20 points in the closing minutues.
Beaudesert claimed the final try, with the Kingfishers taking the win, 20-20.
"We finished third on the ladder, which means we're in the elimination semi-final this weekend," Gee said.
"We're playing Booval Swifts at Tallow Wood Park in Springwood.
"We've beaten this side all year but semi-finals are a bit different.
"If we apply ourselves and play our best football we should win."
If that happens, Gee said the team would play in the grand final qualifier the following week.
The Kingfishers senior men's team will play a home game at RS Willis Park this weekend.
