AS clouds were dumping a "rain bomb" over Beaudesert on Sunday, a ray of sunshine appeared in the person of baby Jacob Ishak, who decided to enter the world amidst flash floods and road closures.
Parents Carole Tadros and Paul Ishak had been at Beaudesert Hospital since Saturday, awaiting the birth of their first child.

Mr Ishak, who works at St Mary's Pharmacy at Kooralbyn and lives in Beaudesert, said there were no problems getting to the hospital.

After Ms Tadros had been in labour for 24 hours, Mr Ishak said the decision was made to perform an emergency caesarean.
"The staff was very helpful and there was a full team, doctors, midwives, anaesthetist and obstetrician and surgeon ready in less than 10 minutes," he said.
"I wondered how they could all get in there. We were scared but only for about 10-15 minutes and we were so relieved when we heard his first cry.
"I was in tears."

Mr Ishak had nothing but praise for the Beaudesert Hospital maternity unit.
'The staff on the maternity ward was really friendly and compassionate. They were not just doing a job, but it was like being looked after by family.
"We really want to recognise their efforts and assure everyone in the area that we have a strong, helpful maternity ward here at Beaudesert Hospital."
Baby Jacob was born just before 5pm on February 27, weighing 3.5 kilograms and measuring 50 centimetres.
Mr Ishak said mother and baby were doing well at home with the help of his mother-in-law Maggie Girgas, who was able to fly to Australia from Egypt in January.
"The due date for Jacob's birth was special - 22/02/2022- but we think him being born on the day the floods hit is just as special," he said.
