A NEW shop is opening at Central Place in Beaudesert.

The Oz Hunterz store will be taking up the corner space next door to Kroesen's Lawyers in the old KFC building.

Shop owner Savannah, who asked that we not use her surname, said the store would sell hunting gear and sporting equipment including Garmin fitness devices and famously sturdy Yeti water bottles and coolers.

The Gleneagle resident moved to the Scenic Rim about five months ago with her young daughter and fiance Matt.

Savannah, who also has an Oz Hunterz store on the Gold Coast, said the Beaudesert shop would also stock Dolly's Dream boots, created in honour of Dolly Everett who took her own life at the age of 14 after being the victim of bullying.

"We sell a lot of her boots," she said.

"I think we raised about $5000 last year for the Dolly Foundation too."

Savannah said the shop opening had suffered a minor delay but should be up and running by Australia Day.
