The Centre Beaudesert presents Lizzie Flynn musical at The Centre

FORMER Beaudesert State High School student Lizzie Flynn took to the stage at The Centre Beaudesert on Saturday to present her musical It Takes a Lot Not to End up Dead.

With acclaimed actress and songstress Ella Macrokanis taking on the role of the younger Lizzie, the audience was delighted with the original songs and satirical storytelling that had people laughing out loud.

Mount Lindesay even rated a mention in a widely relatable tale of young romance.

Flynn said It Takes A Lot Not To End Up Dead was about growing up, with much of it based on true events around the journey through high school and beyond.

"I went to Jimboomba State Primary School and Beaudesert State High School," she said.

"After school I moved to a lot of different places including Lismore, Melbourne and overseas.

"I grew up on 100 acres, when I was a kid I loved the freedom of living in the country and when I got older I wanted to live in the city."

The show also featured five-piece band The Reckoning.
