Kingies women head to finals footy after big win at home

Beaudesert Kingfishers Senior Women's team put on a polished performance at RS Willis Park this weekend against Easts Mt Gravatt.

Coach Campbell Stewart said Kaitlyn Andersen opened the scoring early, with a runaway try which was converted by Maree Blow.

"This was followed by a similar line break and long range try to Desree Fogarty, this time converted by Kaitlyn," he said.

"Tries to Mariah Currie and Lauren Cahill closed the half with the Kingies leading 20-0.

"The ladies came out strong in the second half and continued to apply pressure with plenty of attacking play.

"Lauren opened the points with her second try of the day followed by tries to Renae Williams, Naomi Samphier, Jaime Coetzee and a double for Maree."

The final score was 48-0 to Beaudesert.

Player of the match was Lauren Cahill.

"The ladies now turn their attention to finals football next weekend and a likely game against Mustangs at Chambers Flat," Stewart said.

"Come along and support the team in their finals bid."
