The body of a teenager has been found after a search and rescue operation at Cedar Creek Falls late yesterday.
Police investigations indicated a boy and a friend were swimming at the falls about 4.45pm when they both got into trouble.
One of the boys failed to return to shore, and emergency services were notified a short time later.
Specialist police, with the assistance of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and the Queensland Ambulance Service undertook a ground and water search for the missing boy.
Following an extensive search the 13-year-old was found by police divers and swift water rescue teams just after 10pm.
Preliminary information suggests the boy attended the falls with friends under adult supervision and entered the water just before 5pm.
He failed to resurface.
