RATHDOWNEY Memorial Grounds hosted a market day on Sunday with shoppers arriving from near and far to grab a bargain, browse the stalls and enjoy the atmosphere of a real country market day.
Stalls included gourmet treats, hand turned wood creations and leather saddlery as well as all the old favourite homewares, clothing, farm fresh fruits and vegetables, beauty products and bric-a-brac.
A DJ was on hand to provide the tunes and volunteers served snacks and beverages from the canteen.
After a spot of market day shopping visitors wandered across the road to the Rathdowney Hotel where the popular Cannon Creek Country Band provided live entertainment, playing all the old toe-tapping favourites from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Despite the overcast day and a hint of rain in the air, there were plenty of people in the town who turned up to the Sunday sessions.
