COMMITTEE members of Beaudesert University of the Third Age were kept busy last Friday as potential new members streamed through the door of the Beaudesert RSL function room at the group's annual Open Day.

And when figures were tallied at the end of the morning, 24 new names had been added to the membership list.

"A really healthy result," president Andy Fechner said.

"It's an increase of seven on last year's total on the day, and even better considering the upsets the whole community has had this year with coronavirus."

Both static and interactive displays drew the visitors attention, as tutors and group members gave demonstrations of various courses including line dancing, mosaics, mahjong, gardening and art.

Most U3A courses have now started their meetings for 2021, or will begin again in February.
