Students at TKIS cheer as year 12 graduates set off from Kooralbyn

YEAR 12 graduates walked the red carpet at the Kooralbyn International School this afternoon to celebrate their achievements and say farewell to schoolmates.

With only 10 students graduating this year, the COVID safe pre-formal parade went off without a hitch, with parents and family members able to congregate outside the school fence to watch the young men and women arrive in a variety of vehicles.

In keeping with TKIS tradition, all the other students, from youngest to oldest, took part in the celebration from inside the school grounds.

One of the year 12 students, Josh Griffiths, had waved off former graduates every year since starting at TKIS in prep.

Dressed to impress and taking his rightful place on the red carpet, the young man waved to all the younger students as he stopped for photos with classmates and his parents Anita and Mark.

Despite the outdoor temperature reaching 34 degrees, the six women and four men were patient and gracious when younger children wanted a final word or asked them to twirl in their formal gear.

The group were then taken to their Surfers Paradis formal all together in a stretch limousine.
