THE Kooralbyn Valley resort is hoping to attract day trippers to the Scenic Rim through a series of free markets featuring live music, stalls and car shows.
Events manager Cathy Briant said the business would run the event on the fourth Sunday of every month in an effort to bring city folk to the country and stimulate the local economy.
The first event will be held this Sunday, September 27 from 11am to 4pm.
"It gives people something to do in the area and it is all free," Ms Briant said.
"We want everyone to realise that Kooralbyn is going to be an event place now.
"We are creating these events so people can come and have some fun."
There promises to be something for everyone at the first event, with the Canon Creek Country Band to rock the stage and the Cardi Gras car and bike show on offer for motoring enthusiasts.
The exhibition was popular with visitors to last week's Rathdowney markets at the Memorial Ground.
"The owner does a lot of events in the area with that (show), which is wonderful," Ms Briant said.
"We are backing that and helping to make it happen."
Ms Briant said the business was on the look out for more stall holders to participate in future market days, with spaces available for $25.
"I am trying to set up a relationship with the community," she said.
"We want to make sure the day trippers come out and spend money in our area. We want to promote the Scenic Rim."
The business hopes to bring more people from out of town to the Scenic Rim during a Halloween event on Saturday, October 31.
The major draw cards will be the Cardi Gras show and a Cold Chisel tribute band.
