Beaudesert will send three teams to the Queensland Last Man Stands Cricket Championships on the Gold Coast.
But the winners of the sponsored entry, BrokeBatMountain, have declined to enter as they cannot field a team.
They won their way to the tournament by winning the Beaudesert final last week, and willl hold over their sponsored entry until next year.
Border closures mean the Australian championships will just be between Queensland teams this year. It gets underway at Runaway Bay Cricket Club on Thursday.
There are eight pools of three teams competing. The top two will go through to the finals, with the third placed team playing off in the plate competition.
Beaudesert LMS franchisee Matt Turbill said he expected some of the local contingent to get through to the final 16.
He tipped Crafty Tappers, who lost the Beaudesert final last weekend, to do well.
"They're our best chance of getting anywhere close to a semi final or final," Turbill said.
The final day of the tournament will be live-streamed to Facebook, with Turbill set to provide some commentary for viewers.
Go to the Beaudesert Last Man Stands Facebook page to watch.
The summer competition will get underway on October 11. Turbill expects at least 10 teams to take part.
"We ballooned to 15 in the last winter competition," he said.
