VERESDALE Scrub dairy farmer Rodney Teese has announced an all breeds cattle show to be held at Beaudesert Showground in September.

The South-East Queensland All Breeds Spring Show will run from September 2 to 5 with judging to take place on Friday, September 4.

Mr Teese said the exhibition would go a little way to easing the frustration of agriculture shows across Queensland being cancelled due to the COVID-19 health crisis.

"It's an interbreed show so instead of having 100 classes we have condensed it down to 20, more fun for exhibitors and sponsors get more bang for their buck," he said.

"There will only be one judge and cattle will compete in age categories.

"The interest from exhibitors has been good so far, with about 18 already on board where we would normally have had six.

"We have people coming from Wide Bay, Northern Downs and Southern Downs."

After planning the event for months, Mr Teese said he was grateful for help received from Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause's office to make sure the event would comply with regulations around COVID-19 restrictions.

'This will be a one-off show," he said.

"Hopefully by next year the Ag shows will be up and running again. We have exhibitors coming who would normally not come to the Beaudesert Show."

Mr Teese said catering at the show would be provided by the Illawarra Cattle Club, with Elders cooking breakfast.

He said there would be space at the Showgrounds for caravan and tents.

"There will be one judge and at this point it will be a young fella from Western Queensland," he said.

"We are looking at 80 to 100 cows."

Mr Teese said any local businesses interested in sponsoring the event could contact him on wteese@icloud.com or call 0488 042 304.

Supporters so far included Jon Krause, Scott Buchholz, QDO, Jimboomba Bank of Queensland, Enrights Sawmill, Haack Logistics, Elders, Scenic Rim Council, Norco, Dairy Express, Holstein Australia and Queensland Holstein.
