Transport and Main Roads will be undertaking road improvement works on the Mount Lindesay Highway on a 400-metre section south of Gould Hill Road, Gleneagle, starting from mid-May.
Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause said the condition of the Mount Lindesay Highway is one of the most common concern residents bring to his attention in the Beaudesert district.
"The Mount Lindesay Highway is a hot topic - it's neglected in so many parts and motorists in the Scenic Rim deserve better road infrastructure to keep them safe," he said.
Mr Krause said while work in one section was good, he would keep in the ear of Main Roads to improve the road from Jimboomba to the New South Wales border to ensure the safety of motorists.
Works at the section south of Gould Hill Road will include rehabilitation of the road pavement, asphalting, drainage, shoulder works and line marking - the project is expected to be finished by early June, weather permitting.
The night works will take place between 7pm and 5am and changed traffic conditions will apply.
