The national foodie magazine awards saw 124 producers receiving state awards across dairy, paddock, sea and earth categories.

Judges were tasked with awarding the best of their state to go through to the national judging phase.

Owner of Tommerup's Dairy Farm in Kerry Kay Tommerup said it was not only an honour to be recognised but it was encouragement for her and other dairy farmers to say their product was worth it.

"Despite the low value that is often placed on the dairy industry as a whole, it's worth taking a chance to believe that what you're doing is worth more and believing that the time, effort and soul that goes into producing high-quality dairy products is appreciated.

One day, I hope that it won't just be those taking a chance to do things differently in this industry that can feel really valued - our whole industry will feel it because we are rewarded for our effort and passion," she said.

"Our knowledge and the quality of the milk has enabled us to not only solve the problem of not being able to make cheese from camel milk, but make cheese that is rich, creamy and tastes amazing. It really does put Summer Land Camels and the Scenic Rim on the map as leaders in camel milk locally, nationally and globally," he said.
