Man injured as car crashes into tree at Laravale

A MAN sustained a serious leg injury after crashing his vehicle into a tree on the Mount Lindesay Highway near Thomas Road early this morning.

A spokeswoman for the Queensland Police Service said it appeared the man had swerved to avoid hitting a kangaroo.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said two fire crews arrived about 4.30am to make the vehicle safe.

The remained on scene until 5.15am.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics responded to a call at 4.05am and transported the man to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
