Emergency Services rush to car accident on Tamborine Mountain

UPDATE, 12.50pm:

A MAN has been injured after an accident on Tamborine Mountain this morning.

A spokesman for Queensland Police said the driver, a man in his 80s had possibly suffered a medical episode as he was reversing out of his garage.

The car exited the garage at speed and hit a tree about four metres down an embankment.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance said the man had been taken to Gold Coat University Hospital in a stable condition with head lacerations.

Earlier:

Emergency services have been called to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Tamborine Mountain.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said they responded to a call about 11.25am, with one crew arriving 10 minutes later and another crew on the way.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics were at the scene where a man is being assessed after his car went down an embankment.

The spokeswoman said the car was about five metres down and occupants were out of the vehicle.

Police are also at the scene.
