RAIN is falling across the Scenic Rim and Logan, with Beaudesert recording 16mm from 9am to lunch time, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Meteorologist Shane Kennedy said the showers have been tracking east-northeast since early this morning with light, isolated but continuous showers falling on the region.

"We have seen 3 to 10mm falling across the southeast, with Beaudesert being one of the highest at 16mm so far," Mr Kennedy said.

Logan had received only 4mm since 9am.

"Thuderstormas are unlikely but we are expecting showers for the rest of today and similar conditions tomorrow with a high chance of showers bringing three to eight millimetres."

Mr Kennedy said thunderstorm activity over Longreach and Roma should start tracking towards the east bringing an increased chance of storms to the area on Saturday.
