BACKROADS boutique is holding a grand opening to celebrate its move to Brisbane Street after John Wyatt Electrical shifted operations to Enterprise Drive.
The old building at 90 Brisbane Street was looking a bit shabby before Backroads owner Jo Sellens fixed the place up in preparation for the move, giving it a fresh coat of paint and all the fittings for a brand new shop.
Ms Sellens was manager of Backroads when it was at Beaudesert Centre shopping complex just across the road but has since bought the business.
"This shop has had plenty of support from the community over the years," she said.
"I worked here for seven years and I decided to buy the business.
"I have a close connection to my customers. They are my friends."
Ms Sellens said the grand opening would take place on Saturday from 9am to 1pm with a sausage sizzle to raise funds for Buy a Bale.
'We will also have 10 per cent off store wide for items including shirts, Wrangler jeans, Ariat boots and Akubras," she said.
"There will be a free gift with every purchase, so I hope everyone will come along and support a local business."
Ms Sellens said she was grateful to local businesses Heits Butcher who would be providing sausages on the day and The Big Pumpkin who would be chipping with bread and onions.
