BEAUDESERT police are investigating a break and enter that occurred in the early morning of December 6.

A police spokesman said they had responded to a call reporting a Gleneagle store being broken into about 4.14am.

They arrived to find the door had been kicked in and the cigarette roller door damaged.

"A witness saw the offenders and interrupted them," the spokesman said.

"They were then seen putting cigarettes and lollies into a white Ford Territory.

"As they escaped some of the stolen goods fell out of the back of the car."

The police spokesman said it was believed the Ford Territory had been stolen from Townsville and may be linked to other crimes.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crimestoppers.
