IRISH Australian band The Barleyshakes is coming back to Beaudesert in December.

Billed as "brewed in Ireland but distilled in Australia", The Barleyshakes will perform at The Centre Beaudesert in a fitting finale to Scenic Rim Regional Council's 2019 morning concert series.

A council spokesperson said The Barleyshakes band formed in Ireland in 1994 and had sicne built a following throughout Australia as a Celtic family group with a unique Irish sound incorporating world music influences.

"Popular regulars on the Australian folk festival circuit, with several European tours to their credit, The Barleyshakes are winners of the Queensland Music Award for World Music and renowned for their energetic mix of fast-paced originals, covers and instrumentals," the spokesperson said.

"Their multi-faceted repertoire incorporates the fiddle, banjo, flute, bass, drum, guitar, mandolin and vocals in an uplifting and joyous blend of traditional and original Irish music."

The curtain goes up for the final morning concert of the year on Friday, December 13 at 11am following a complimentary morning tea at 10am.
