Beaudesert Santa Claus urges people to donate Christmas presents ahead of festive season

BEAUDESERT'S favourite Santa Claus Keith Reinke is preparing to don his red and white suit but fears he may not have enough presents to give out to children during Christmas festivities this year.

Mr Reinke has dressed as Santa for the last 30 years and is a regular at shopping centres and Christmas carols where he poses for photos and listens to present requests.

He gave 7000 presents to children last year but is in need of more this year to stop some from going empty-handed.

He is urging people to donate things like stationary and toys to Andersons Beaudesert or his unit at Elysium Village so he can bring a smile to their faces again.

Mr Reinke said the children that visited him deserved a present because they were always on Santa's nice list.

"The kids are great," he said.

"They all tell you how good they have been.

"They tell you what they want for Christmas and that can range from an aircraft to a mini-bike."

Mr Reinke and his wife normally do the gift shopping but they have been struck down with illness and stuck indoors over the last few months.

He said he would welcome donations to his home at unit three, Elysium Village at 339 Brisbane Street.
