THE Scenic Rim Garage Sale Trail will be on the weekend of October 19 and 20.

Scenic Rim Regional Council said the nationwide community and recycling campaign would offer a wealth of practical, quirky, collectable and colourful second-hand finds for shoppers across the region.

Mayor Greg Christensen said the Garage Sale Trail provided Scenic Rim residents a chance to re-home items that may otherwise end up in landfill.

"The program is made possible locally by Scenic Rim Regional Council and there will be more than 155 garage sales throughout the region being held by local residents and community groups," he said.

"Nationally, the Garage Sale Trail is shaping up to be the biggest sustainable shopping extravaganza ever, with more than 400,000 people expected to participate across more than 18,000 garage sales.

"Plan your trail online and make a weekend of it by being out and about supporting locals in the Scenic Rim."
