FIRE and emergency services have reminded south-east Queensland residents of a total fire ban currently in place after crews extinguished a fire at a Veresdale Scrub property this morning.
Ten QFES crews attended at about 8am, and the fire was put out by 8.40am.
A police spokesperson said the property owner had been burning rubbish in a concrete water tank. No further action was taken.
The fire ban - which is in place until Friday, September 20 - includes Scenic Rim, Redlands, Logan, Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Gold Coast, Lockyer Valley and Ipswich areas.
Information on fire bans and the exemptions that can apply can be found on the RFS website ruralfire.qld.gov.au.
