STUDENTS from Beaudesert's McAuley College have racked up a host of sporting achievements in this year's South East Colleges Association competitions.

The competitions are held in terms one and two each year and their sports teacher Amy Richards said students took part in round games every week before qualifying for the finals to determine overall division winners.

'This year McAuley College has two premiership winning teams, our junior chess team and our year 8 boys touch football team," she said.

Ms Richards said students had also taken on the challenge of representing the school in the annual Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run, held on August 25.

"McAuley College entered a team of runners into the Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run," she said.

"Year 9 student Abi Henry took part in the 10 kilometre run for the first time and finished in under an hour.

"The other students participated in the five kilometre run and as a team placed 9th out of about 4000 teams."
