Tamrookum State School hosts Ekka Day at home

TAMROOKUM State School students enjoyed all the fun stuff associated with Ekka and the Beaudesert Show today.

School business manager Janice Woodeson said the event was first held last year to make sure those students who may not be able to attend the show would still get to experience the joy.

'We have fun activities like tug-o-war, sack races and three-legged races," she said.

"We also have a sausage sizzle, lucky dips and real showbags for sale."

Crew members from Kooralbyn's Queensland Fire and Emergency Services team were on hand with their fire truck for kids to explore and were ready to show the children how to use the fire hose.

Children enjoyed taking on the Tamrookum Aussie Ninja obstacle course challenge and also competed in the boot toss and footy target.

Teachers joined in the spirit of show day and a good time was had by all.
