Woman arrested after being on the street armed with a knife in Kalbar

A 33-year-old Kalbar woman was arrested and charged after an incident involving a knife in Edwards Street, Kalbar about 5pm on Thursday, August 8.

Police were called after people reported seeing the female walking along the street armed with a knife.

Upon arrival the female was arrested, however she obstructed police when they tried to conduct a search of her person.

During a later search police found a glass pipe in her possession.

She has been charged with being in possession of a knife in public, obstructing police and possessing a drug utensil.

She is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on August 30.

Meanwhile a 32-year-old Kalbar man was given an infringement notice for public nuisance after an offensive behaviour incident in High Street, Boonah about 12.15pm on Thursday, August 8.

Police are also investigating the theft of an electric fence from a rural property on Mount Greville Road, Moogerah between Thursday, August 1 and Saturday, August 10.

A spokesman for Boonah police said the owner of the property had been advised cattle were loose.

When he went to check his stock, he found the electric power unit missing from the property.

Police have asked anyone who may have seen a vehicle loitering in the area recently to contact Boonah Police or Crimestoppers.
