WHEN the state budget is handed down next week, Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause says he expects the government to do the right thing by the Scenic Rim.
"It would be great if we had no new taxes and all the infrastructure we need for our region but failing that, fixing the roads should be a priority, especially the Mount Lindesay Highway and Beaudesert Nerang Road near Tabragalba," he said.
"We need to see some progress fixing the Jimboomba bottleneck too."

Mr Krause siad he hoped the budget also allocated funds to relieve the pressure caused by soaring electricity costs.
"The cost of electricity to primary producers and small business in the Scenic Rim needs to be sorted," he said.
"Last year the government made $1.7 billion from power bills.
"Given the drought conditions, small businesses and farmers could really use some relief from power bills and the state government could offer that."
Mr Krause said last but not least was the ongoing situation with the Beaudesert Police station.
"It has been in the budget for the last couple of years, with $5.8 million allocated and about $100,000 spent so far.
"Our community needs this done now, not put on the back burner again. The police station is out of date and not fit for purpose."
