GOLD Logie winning actor, advocate, and recent winner of Dancing with The Stars Samuel Johnson is visiting Beaudesert next week as he tours Australia in search of the ten millionth dollar that he promised to raise in the name of his late sister Connie.

He has raised just over $9 million having campaigned at over 800 community events so far, and he insists on being there for the moment his promise is kept. His next-level community engagement strategy involves marquee fundraisers, school visits, parlour visits, street presence, community meetings, hospital visits and tap-dancing lessons!

Johnson has embarked on a two year long lap around Australia in his schmick Avan Motorhome, on a mission to remind every mum in the land to be breast aware. To keep his long-held promise of $10M for research.

The Beaudesert Love Your Sister event will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at the Beaudesert Soccer Club grounds and is being organised by local resident Veronica Smith, who said cancer research was a cause close to her heart.

"I have lost quite a few family members to cancer," Ms Smith said.

"Last year we lost my father, cancer is a big thing in our family, we have raised money for leukaemia research via the World's Greatest Shave and this year we want to support the Love Your Sister Foundation."

Ms Smith said the fundraiser will start at 3.30pm for activities, a sausage sizzle, cake sale, lucky number board and a raffle.

"We are hoping local businesses will sponsor the event or chip in for raffle prizes," she said.

Beaudesert Soccer Club spokeswoman Nicole Teese said they were looking forward to the event.

"We are happy to support Love Your Sister by offering the use of our grounds," she said.

"The whole club is behind it and there will be players there on the day to show their support."
