PRODUCERS, chefs and gourmands gathered at The Overflow Estate 1895 today for the launch of the Scenic Rim Eat Local Week 2019 program.
Packed with a variety of tasty events from degustation, wine tasting and fine dining to music festivals, artisan markets and farm experiences, this years program contains something for everyone.
Eat Local Week runs from June 27 to July 7 but the program includes pre-events like the official opening of Tommerups creamery on May 25 and Carrot Couture fashion event at Kalfresh Vegetables on June 15.
Guests were served with an al fresco lunch comprised of local produce and prepared by Kate Raymont from the Vintage Pickle on Tamborine Mountain.
The meal was accompanied by a variety of wines produced at The Overflow Estate 1895.
Mayor Greg Christensen launched the 2019 Eat Local program.
Also in attendance were Scenic Rim councillors Nigel Waistell, Duncan McInnes, Michael Enright, Virginia West and Nadia O'Carroll as well as Wright federal MP Scott Buchholz, state Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause and federal candidate for the Katter Australia Party, Matt Tomlinson.
