FASSIFERN Police will join Ipswich District Crime Prevention unit and Boonah Automatics to host an Under the Bonnet motorists safety seminar next month.

The event will be held on May 8 at 6:30pm at Boonah Automatics.

A police spokesman said the workshop would outline personal safety strategies, using public transport, road safety fatal five and basic car maintenance including changing a tyre and checking oil levels.

"This is a highly successful program which has been delivered in Ipswich by senior constable Kerrin Sheedy from the Crime Prevention Unit," he said.

"The program is aimed at young people and women but it is a great opportunity for people in the Fassifern to attend and learn more about basic vehicle maintenance.

"The date is fast approaching and numbers are required, please contact Boonah Station either on 5463 3999 or email Boonah.Station@police.qld.gov.au for more information."
