National Ride 2 School Day is tomorrow and hundreds of schools across Australia will see students riding, walking, scooting or skating to school.

A spokesman for Beaudesert police, who also take part in the event to make sure Beaudesert State School students ride to school safely, today said the event would not take place this week.

A spokesman for the Education Department said the event had been rescheduled for next week, with no reason given for the postponement.

"Beaudesert State School's Ride to School event has been postponed for a week," he said.

"It is expected to be held on Friday, March 29.

"Permission forms will be sent home to parents and caregivers after the whole-school assembly on Monday, with the updated details to also be sent to carers electronically."
