SCENIC Rim Regional Council's morning concert series at The Centre Beaudesert will present a performance of We've Only Just Begun: The Music of The Carpenters by Angela Lumicisi next month.
As the self-confessed world's number one Carpenters fan, Lumicisi said she would be reprising the best known and loved hits of her favourite duo in her concert on April 5.
Lumicisi said she grew up in a traditional Italian setting in Melbourne but Karen Carpenter's soaring vocals and heart-wrenching lyrics spoke to her in a way no-one had before.
Her childhood dreams involved more than going to school, getting married and having children, so Lumicisi said the music of the popular brother and sister duo, The Carpenters, was a beacon of hope.
"It's like she's singing to me and she knows what I'm going through - how is that?" she said.

Lumicisi said she saw parallels between her life and Karen Carpenter's through their personal struggles but Karen's life ended as hers had only just begun.
The Melbourne songstress went on to enjoy a long and varied career nationally and internationally, graduating from the Melba Conservatorium of Music in classical singing and performing in musical theatre, opera and cabaret.
Theatre credits included the Australasian tour of Wicked, as Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and as Lady Macbeth in the Melbourne premiere and Brisbane return season of the contemporary rock opera Macbeth.
Lumicisi will present at The Centre Beaudesert on Friday, April 5 as part of Scenic Rim Regional Council's 2019 morning concert series.
The show will start at 11am following a complimentary morning tea at 10am.
