The Scenic Rim State Emergency Service rescued a bushwalker lost at Mount Maroon after police received a distress call from the man on Saturday at 4.30pm.
Police said the Brisbane man lost his bearings and became disorientated but was able to contact police and provide his GPS location.
Volunteers from the Scenic Rim SES walked in and easily found the uninjured man because he had remained at the stated GPS location.
They guided him back to the Cotswold Road car park by about 10.30pm.
Boonah Police thanked the five volunteers from the SES who gave up their time to help recover the bushwalker.
The incident serves as a reminder to anyone entering the Scenic Rim's national parks, recreational areas and reserves to ensure they are sufficiently equipped and prepared for any situation.
