Locals learned some great techniques for repairing and restoring discarded items at a Creative Repairs workshop at the Boonah Community Garden on Thursday from 10am-midday.
Boonah Community Garden president Rob Davies said the session aimed to teach attendees how to think outside of the box in order to turn everyday materials into useful items.
"It was about discovering readily available materials and what you can do with them," he said.
"People often run off to the shops when they need an item and they get a bit of a buzz from buying something.
"Well the philosophy behind this is that you can get an even bigger buzz by not going to the shop, and getting creative and making it yourself."
He said materials such as bamboo, wire, pipes and other off-cuts all were extremely handy and could be used for a variety of purposes.
