Locals feasted on delicious cupcakes and scones at the Library Lover's Morning Tea at the Beaudesert Library this morning.
It was an opportunity for attendees to socialise and enjoy each other's company, while discussing various topics, including genealogy and family history, and community grants.
Beaudesert woman of 30 years Pam Robins was on hand.
Ms Robins, who is a member of the Friends of Beaudesert Library group, said she could not live without the library.
"I learnt to read as a small child and haven't stopped," she said.
She said the library was a wonderful community resource and it was vital that people learned to read from a young age because they would inevitably require the skill.
"There will always be something that you will have to read at some time in your life," she said.
