Beaudesert U3A open day crowded as new students sign up

Beaudesert’s University of the Third Age enrolled 30 new members at their open day held Friday at Centacare.

U3A president Andy Fechner said the event attracted more than 100 visitors, including many who were keen to find out about local activities along with current members renewing their membership for 2019.

“Various group tutors displayed work including art, scrapbooking, computers, mosaics and mah jong,” Mr Fechner said.

“New courses which had been outlined for the year have now been confirmed as a result of Open Day, with new memberships including the Kooralbyn card group, indoor bowls and line dancing.”

Mr Fechner said an option for a regular trivia puzzle afternoon was now a goer, with the first event from 1.30 to 3.30 pm on Wednesday, February 6 at Centacare.
