Local woman and breast cancer survivor Michelle Richards will test her endurance to support women with the disease during the Mater International Women’s Day Fun Run on March 3.
Ms Richards, who was diagnosed in 2016, is joining the Beaudesert Pacers walking group in the five kilometre event, which kicks off at South Bank and raises funds for breast cancer research.
Having endured more than six months of chemo and radiation therapy and a mastectomy to overcome the life-threatening disease, Ms Richards said it meant a lot to her to be able to help women battling through similar circumstances.
“Being a breast cancer survivor, it means a lot to me to be able to help women with breast cancer, and if you could help me by making a donation today, it would be something I’d really appreciate,” she said.
“Together we can make sure no woman feels alone when going through breast cancer.”
