RURAL Lifestyle Options Australia participants and families celebrated Christmas early this year with a celebration at their Emerald House Social Hub and Respite Retreat.
They donned their Christmas hats and came together for a festive gathering that included some jolly Christmas songs and a buffet style lunch courtesy of BeanTo.
Lifestyle Support Worker Leanne Markey said the atmosphere of the party made it feel like Christmas day.
“There was socialising, good food, festivities and everyone was ready for a nap afterwards,” she said.
Santa Claus arrived in a Fire Engine courtesy of Birnam Rural Fire Brigade and delivered presents much to everyone’s delight.
RLOA national marketing manager Nicholas Power said they were grateful for local support.
“It is always nice to see the smiles at these type of events,” he said.
“It is a pleasant reminder of what working in this industry is all about.
“A special thank you to Birnam Rural Fire Brigade for safely bringing Santa Claus to our Christmas celebrations for the second year in a row and BeanTo for catering another delicious Christmas buffet.”
Recently, clients and staff performed a rendition of Jingle Bells as part of their 2018 Christmas Appeal.
The appeal is to raise funds for RLOA’s 10th Unfunded Project, a newly established wheelchair-accessible accommodation house within the Scenic Rim.
