In the weekend’s junior cricket action, Beaudesert Division Two recorded a tremendous win in a nail-biting encounter with Kuraby.

Beaudesert only lost one wicket on its way to 1/101 with Jim McClure (46 rno) top scoring and Jacob Hume (39 rno) also playing impressively.

Kuraby fought hard but Beaudesert did brilliantly to restrict them to 2/98.

Ethan Walsh and Adam Stockham each picked up a wicket and Isaac Hardy hung onto a screamer in the outfield.

In Division Three, Beaudesert White braved the scorching heat to do battle with Jimboomba at Everdell Park.

In a remarkable feat, the Beaudesert batting line-up had eight players retired not out on its way to compiling 3/165.

Clancy Hardy top scored with 31 rno, while Alex Harrison (27 rno) and Darby Lynam (24 rno) also showed class throughout their innings.

In response, Jimboomba could only manage 8/112 from their allotted 23 overs.

Beaudesert’s Seb Potts tore through Jimboomba’s batsmen.

Potts twice sent the ball crashing into the woodwork and clutched a spectacular caught and bowled as well as he picked up three for 5 off two overs to set the tone for his team in the field.

Alex Harrison, Clancy Hardy, Darcy Riddle, Isabelle Hardy and Kupa Heenan each chipped in with a wicket each.
