FEDERAL member for Wright, Scott Buchholz has opened nominations for the fourth annual Wright Community Contribution Awards.

Mr Buchholz said the awards were created as a way of acknowledging the tireless work volunteers do in the community.

“I established these awards to recognise the amazing work done by local residents in a variety of ways including with local charities, sporting clubs, service organisations, community groups and other voluntary activities.”

“As I meet with people across our local region it’s heartening to see such dedication.”

Mr Buchholz said without the unceasing work of volunteers, many of our local community organisations and services would not be able to provide the services that many rely upon.

“The Wright Community Awards are important because it lets our local volunteers know how much the entire community appreciate their efforts to make our community a better place to live,” Mr Buchholz said.

“I encourage anyone who knows someone who goes above and beyond to visit my website scottbuchholz.com.au or contact my office on 5541 0150 or by email to Scott.Buchholz.MP@aph.gov.au for a copy of the nomination form.

Mr Buchholz said a special presentation ceremony would be held early next year for recipients of the awards. Nominations close on February 8.
