Buyers were impressed with the standard of stock they were able to purchase at the annual Nindooinbah Spring Sale yesterday afternoon at Kerry.
Manager Nick Cameron said 55 Brangus and Ultrablack bulls were sold for an average of $5636 and the top price was $11,000.
He said prices averaged $1200 less than last year but were pretty solid given the weather conditions this year.
“Some of our main clients have been doing it tough,” he said.
“But we had very positive feedback from the buyers.
“They were amazed at the quality of bulls that they managed to pick up.
“They were very happy customers who picked up some reasonably priced bulls that ticked all the boxes.”
Bulls were sold to buyers from all over Queensland, including the Maranoa, Rockhampton and Bollon in the south, as well as Lismore in New South Wales.
Mr Cameron said the Brangus and Ultrablack breeds were gaining popularity due to their fertility, carcass attributes and adaptability.
He said the animal which sold for $11,000 was a beautiful all-round Ultrablack bull with excellent figures.
