Soul review at The Centre Beaudesert strikes a chord

THE CROWD was pumped as performers from the Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts took to the stage at The Centre last night.

The well-choregraphed show saw five performers present songs in the style of Motown with a few newer tunes and some accoustic sets as an added bonus.

The night kicked off with the young performers Rudy Marshall-McGrath, Beata Kennedy, Joey Parr and Shanice McLean belting out a lively version of Sugar Pie Honey Bunch followed by Shanice McLean’s solo rendition of the Amy Winehouse version of  Valerie and an accoustic performance of McLean’s original song, Everyday.

The show was well received with some audience members leaving their seats to dance during old favourites like Heard it Through the Grapevine and Dancing in the Street.
