RAINY weather did not put a dampener on community enthusiasm and market day went ahead as planned to kick off a month of Turning Canungra Pink today.
Pink light poles, pink flags, pink shop displays and people wearing pink tee shirts added to the air of solidarity the town exudes every October in support of cancer research at home and away.
The markets featured offerings from gourmet food stalls and local organisations including the Country Women’s Association.
There was live music from a variety of performers including Beaudesert’s own Kelly Stewart.
Several events are planned for the month and shops are running individual fundraisers to raise money for the cancer council as well as to provide support to cancer sufferers and their families in Canungra.
