Vegetation fire halted at Harrisville

EMERGENCY services responded to reports of a vegetation fire at Peak Crossing yesterday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said the blaze was at Warrill View Peak Crossing Road.

Five QFES crews were in attendance at the fire, which was called in about 6pm.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and blackened the edges to prevent any further spreading.

A spokesman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics were also on standby to assist QFES.

The spokesman said a man in his 60s had suffered minor burns to his hands and was given first aid at the scene.

He said there were no other injuries requiring treatment or transportation to hospital.

Emergency crews made the area safe and left the scene just after 7pm.
