BEAUDESERT marked Child Protection Week with a family fun day in Jubilee Park today.
Community groups and local businesses came together to offer the free event for children and their families.
There were smiles aplenty at the park as children, parents and carers enjoyed a free sausage sizzle and drink with free activities including a jumping castle, ten pin bowling, face painting and a baby animal display.
Australian Skateboarding Community Initiative was on hand to offer free coaching sessions and demonstrations, with 8-year-old Archie foster having his first try at skateboarding under the watchful eye of ASCI coach Kale Hennessy.
Beaudesert’s Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and State Emergency Service crew members threw their support behind the event to join the fun, as did local service providers and child care centres.
The family fun day started at midday and will continue until 4pm, so children can drop by after school to join the skaters or play with the lambs, goats, sheep and chickens.
