The Beaudesert Rangers Soccer Club is hosting a six-a-side competition in the off-season.
Fundraising co-ordinator Nicole Teese said the club had been trying to start up a summer competition for several years without success but increased interest this time around made the upcoming season possible.
She said soccer and rugby league finished in the next few weeks and the eight-week season was designed to fill the void in the sporting calendar which occurs prior to Christmas.
“There has been lots of people into it this year, so we’re hoping it takes off,” Mrs Teese said.
“Everyone is welcome, men and women, even if they don’t play soccer.”
The competition will be played on a Wednesday night at Selwyn Park, from October 10 with finals on November 28.
Juniors will kick-off from 4pm with seniors to follow.
Age groups will be combined, including: under 7/8, under 9/10, under 11/12, under 13/14, under 15/16, seniors (men’s, ladies, mixed and over-30s).
Fees are $400 per team which is payable before the commencement of round three – no pay, no play.
Players who played the 2018 QCSA season are already insured. Those who are not QCSA members will be required to pay a $20 insurance levy and complete a form which can be downloaded off our website.
Teams can be either boy, girl or mixed and nominations are due September 21.
Individual players are welcome to join and can be placed into an existing team.
