The Beaudesert Rangers gave a $10,000 cheque to the Cancer Council on Thursday after raising the funds at the Pink Day fundraiser held at Selwyn Park on July 28.
Fundraising co-ordinator Nicole Teese said the club was very proud to be handing over a large amount of money to help fight a disease that has touched so many families.
“The soccer club would like to thank the Beaudesert community and local businesses,” she said.
“Without your sponsorships and donations our Pink Day wouldn’t have been such an overwhelming success.
“Also a massive thank you to our soccer families.
“Without you the day would not have been possible.”
Cancer Council Queensland chief executive Chris McMillan also thanked everyone who took part and donated generously to the Pink Day fundraiser.
“Community fundraising is the heart of our work and significantly contributes to our mission of hope for a cancer free future,” she said.
“Funds raised are essential in investing in research for better outcomes, providing information and being there for all Queenslanders affected by cancer every minute, every hour, every day.
“To the Beaudesert Rangers Soccer Club, event organisers, volunteers and all who participated – we express our heartfelt thanks.”
