Seniors Week events kick off at Beaudesert Star

RESIDENTS at Whiddon Beaudesert Star kicked off Seniors Week celebrations with a barbecue lunch yesterday.

Whiddon Beaudesert director of care, Anne Hickey, said she was excited to celebrate 2018 Queensland Seniors Week with an exciting and engaging events program.

‘We are delighted to host a range of events that will engage and entertain, and provide opportunities for our residents to connect with others, and celebrate the important role that older people play in our communities.’

‘There was a barbecue with all the trimmings for residents, families and Whiddon Community Care clients, with delicious food, great entertainment and a chance to spend time with new friends.

“We will also be hosting an afternoon tea where one of our residents will be reciting poetry.’

‘The Queensland Seniors Week is a fantastic celebration of older people in our community, and a way that we can pay tribute to them,’ Ms Hickey said.

The next Seniors Week event at Whiddon Beaudesert Star will feature a performance by favourite entertainer Michael Asma on Friday.
