Rangers returned to the winner’s circle in style on Saturday with a comprehensive 3-0 drubbing of the Latin Golden Boys.
Beaudesert were expected to dominate and they started the game accordingly, swarming the opposition on defence and pushing forward at every opportunity with numbers.
Territorial advantage and a glut of possession were converted to the scoreboard at the 20 minute mark when Joe Nilon latched onto a pinpoint cross, sending the ball into the back of the net.
Moments later, Rangers had a second when Lachlan Snow too drilled one home off a well-directed pass to the top of the 18-yard box.
Leading 2-0 at half-time and playing with enthusiasm, fluency and purpose, Beaudesert had found the rhythm which eluded the side in its mid-week loss to Logan.
Coach Lachlan Snow was pleased with the way his players began the match, saying they were all over their counterparts.
In the second half, Rangers continued in the same vein, controlling the pill and running the Latin Golden Boys into submission.
Lewis Steindl sealed the 3-0 victory with a decisive finish following a penetrating run down the right wing.
Snow said winning in such a convincing manner was a great way to bounce back and prepare for the finals.
“We’re on to bigger and better things now,” he said.
Rangers face St Paul’s at Mansfield on Saturday at 3pm in the last fixture of the Queensland Christian Soccer Association.
