FIREFIGHTERS have stopped the spread of a large grass fire in Rathdowney.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said the fire affected 100 acres and was spreading when the call came in at 1.11pm today.
She said eight Scenic Rim fire trucks from both auxilliary and rural fire brigades had managed to prevent the fire from spreading.
The fire was reportedly considered a threat to properties in the area but the spokeswoman said no structures were burned and properties were no longer under threat.
However she said an old bus and caravan were lost to the fire.
She said multiple crews still remained on scene but further firefighters were no longer required.
A spokesperson for Queensland Ambulance said paramedics were not required to attend.
